How to Play Eldrow
Eldrow is a reverse Wordle-style word game. Instead of trying to guess a hidden word, the goal word is shown at the top in blue. Your job is to type six different 5-letter words that score as many points as possible against that goal word.
The Goal Word
The blue word at the top is the goal word. Every guess is compared to that word. You can click the goal word, press backspace to delete letters, and type your own custom goal word if you want to play a specific word.
Making Guesses
Click a guess row to select it, then type a 5-letter word. You can also use the up and down arrow keys to move between rows. Each guess must be a valid word from the dictionary. If a full 5-letter guess is not in the dictionary, its tiles turn red and that row scores 0 points.
Tile Colors
After each letter is typed, the tiles update automatically:
- Green: the letter is in the goal word and in the correct position.
- Yellow: the letter is in the goal word, but in a different position.
- Light gray: the letter does not score in that position.
- Red: the completed guess is not in the dictionary and does not score.
Used Positions
Each scoring letter-position can only be used once. For example, if you already scored a green letter in the first position, another guess with that same green letter in the first position will not score again.
The Used Positions helper shows which letters and positions have already scored. A green square means that letter has already scored in that position.
Scoring
Each green tile is worth 2 points. Each yellow tile is worth 1 point. Gray and red tiles are worth 0 points.
The highest possible score is 30 points, which means all 30 guess tiles scored as green or yellow.
Leaderboard
You can view the leaderboard for the current goal word to see other scores for that word. You can also submit your completed board to the leaderboard and compare your result with other players.
